Remember when Marvel turnedSen. Kirsten Gillibrand into one of its” Senators of Steel” in honor of her tireless fight against campus sexual assault? Remember whenGillibrand invited as her guest to the State of the Union Address Emma Sulkowicz, the Columbia University student whovowed to carry a mattress around campus( and earn college credit while doing it) until a student she accused of rape was expelled? And the timeUnited States Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power laudedSulkowicz for helping show that” true change is possible “?
We’ve lost track of Mattress Girl, but the man she accused of rape, Paul Nungesser, just resolved with the university for an undisclosed amount.

Nungesser had filed a suit against the school, alleging that Columbia had encouraged the protest, which was picked up by news outlets in 35 countries, even though auniversity investigation had detected him not guilty.
